Persistent rippling following a cleaning. There are two primary causes of carpet re spotting. Occasionally a brownish discoloration appears on a carpet or rug after it has been cleaned. If enough days pass for the carpet to dry out after cleaning and the ripples and buckles do not resolve on their own you may have a more serious problem.

Sometimes spots can reappear as soon as the carpet dries. The stains at the back of the rug rise to the surface making it look like the old stain has. First lets look at the definition of stain resistance. A single misstep when cleaning carpets has the potential to turn once soft flooring into a stiff crunchy mess.

Either way it can be quite annoying to see spots and stains re emerge on a carpet you thought was just professionally cleaned. Other times the spots come back after several weeks have passed. One of the causes of this discoloration is a condition called cellulosic browning. Sometimes the high ph hasn t been fully rinsed out of the carpet.

Some carpets have streaks after cleaning because of soiling and wicking. Soiling is caused by dirt attracting residue from the carpet cleaner. Wicking occurs when the carpet has deep stains and is wet. Stain resistance is the ability inherent in a fiber or a chemical finish applied to the fiber and or surface that inhibits specific stains from adhering to or dyeing carpet and fabrics.

This leaves the carpet at too high of a ph which causes you to have brown spots on the carpet after carpet cleaning. Brown stains can often occur after a carpet cleaning. So why do carpets have streaks after cleaning. Add in the fact that some carpet fibers naturally stiffen as they dry no matter how thoroughly you clean which makes the chances of plush carpets turning brittle increase.

Usually the brown spots are going to be pretty large widespread and may appear streaky with a brownout. Ps most of us who clean using the same chemicals everyday day in day out when something like this happens its alarming needless to say we usually say its probably a pre existing condition.
